TRANSPORATION INFORMATION

Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) – DC Metrorail:

The closest Metro stop to HHS is Federal Center SW (Blue, Orange and Silver Line) Station. When you exit the Federal Center SW turn left and walk towards Independence Avenue. Visitors must enter building through the Independence Avenue entrance.

Directions to the Building using the DC Metrorail:

From Federal Center SW metro station (blue/orange line): Make a left at the top of the escalators upon exiting to the street. The HHS Humphrey building is about a block away on the right at the corner of C & 3rd Street (the visitor entrance is on the Independence Avenue side).


From L’Enfant Plaza metro station (blue/orange/yellow/green line): Exit via the Maryland Street exit and proceed right down Maryland Avenue, take a right on 6th Street, and take a left straight down C Street. The HHS Humphrey building will be about 2.5 blocks down on your left.

Arrival Instructions

Plan to arrive 30 minutes before the Prime Summit to allow time for processing through security and to be escorted to the penthouse suite. Once inside the HHS Humphrey Building, you will first go through security screening and a metal detector. In order to proceed quickly, it is advised to store any jewelry or metal items in your bag until after you exit the metal detector. You are allowed to bring items into the building, such as computers and cellphones, if needed.
Approach the security desk and show your photo ID (e.g., driver’s license, passport) to the security guard. Tell them that you are attending the HHS OSDBU large prime summit.
There will be HHS staff members waiting in the lobby to escort you to the conference room.

Dining Options

Water will be provided at this meeting. You may utilize the HHS Humphrey Cafeteria, which is right across the hallway from the penthouse suite for the meeting. There are many food, beverage, and snack options, as well as coffee and breakfast items in the morning.
